The energy of the crown chakra, or 7th chakra, starts at the top of your head. Its visualization is a crown radiating upwards. It is said to be the place where the individual consciousness meets a higher state or universal consciousness enabling you to experience spiritual growth and be connected to the universe. The crown chakra is responsible for transcending limitations. When you are immersed in the energy of your seventh chakra, you feel a state of blissful unity with everything around you. The crown chakra enables you to move beyond materialistic needs and to connect with the universe as a whole. This chakra allows access to the utmost clarity and enlightened wisdom. Let’s explore the crown chakra together through upward movement.

Yoga with Tovah: Crown Chakra

High in the mountains of the Andes lays the beautiful colonial city of Quito. A mix of old and new, beauty and struggle. After my trip to the Galapagos, I had been diagnosed with Covid. (These were the days we had to test before traveling.) scrambling, and needing a place to stay, I found this beautiful hotel (Vista del Angel, great views, great food, highly recommend.) on the top of the city mountains. I felt fine despite the diagnosis, and spent time outside, isolated in the mountains, before I journeyed off once again to the Amazon tributary of Cuyabeno when I finally tested negative. Quito is an interesting city. A place of absolute beauty against the land of struggle. I was constantly warned to be safe and watch my belongings. On the way to this beautiful hotel, with the taxi window slightly opened, someone reached in to steal my phone. Luckily, my African roots triggered, and I clamped down on the phone not only saving my phone, but all my credit cards and my drivers license which were encased in the cell phone. Tragedy avoided, I instead yelled at them as they ran down the street with nothing.  Travel will teach you things, make you strong, make you brave, and make you able to move through challenges.
